One of Villajoyosa’s most famous trees is dying because of an excess of water.
The 200 year old Drago was placed in the Xovades zone of the town in 2004 but an excess of watering has caused the roots to rot.
The roots now need to dry out , so special water channels are being built to drain water away from the tree. Hopefully the tree will make a full recovery.
