Av elderly man was killed in a head on crash with a lorry on the N332 at Gata de Gorgos on Monday.
The accident took place during heavy rain at about 17.30.
The reason for the accident is not known yet. A woman travelling in the car was injured and taken to the Marina Alta hospital in Denia.
An unrelated accident took place in Teulada where a German national was also killed. His car left the road and police feel that he may have suffered a heart attack.
