The mayor of Finestrat has visited Madrid to collect an award from the Independent Consumer and User Federation for environmental awareness in his town.
The mayor has said how proud he is to be receiving this award from the environmental ministry.
The green flag has been awarded for its harmonious development protecting the surrounding nature and atmosphere .
Other categories included the general saving of water, correct disposal of toxic waste and the education and participation of local residents.
Finestrat employs 35 people to keep the town clean.
