The DNI office deals with registration certificates for foreign residents.
It is situated on the Avenida Marquesa and is the scene of long queues as people try to comply with the current legislation governing their status in Spain.
Just 6 months after it was opened it is in turmoil due to lack of personnel .
Local politicians want the government delegates office in Alicante to take urgent action to rectify the situation.
