A provincial court has absolved a local police officer of assault after his accuser admitted that he had caused the affray.
The Benidorm officer stopped the man to check his motor documents after he was discovered being double parked .
The man tried to drive away and the police officer stood in the path of the car. A scuffle ensued during which the officer used his truncheon
The man was fined 160 euros
