An informative talk about Neighbourhood Watch was held the cultural centre in Altea last week.

More than a hundred people attended the meeting which was addressed by representitives from the town hall and Neighbourhood Watch .

The mayor opened the meeting and praised the efforts of the towns local policeforce and also the interest shown by foreign residents.

The security councillor explained that the scheme was to help and collaborate with the security ervices and to keep them informed about what is going on .

She stressed that nobody involved in the project would ever be part of police action.

Members of Neighbourhood Watch in Pilar de Horadada and Torrevieja also spoke of their experiences of the system.
