A total of 113 people took part in the municipality’s first campaign to combat blindness and glaucoma at Benijofar.
A mobile unit from Jorge Alio Foundation provided free eye tests in conjunction with the town hall’s health department.
The more elderly are more susceptible to cataracts , macular degeneration, glaucoma etc.Some of these can have irreversible effects if not treated early enough.
The average age of those tested was 66 and health councillor Ortiz Ruiz thanked them for taking part and assured them that the campaign would be repeated.
