The parrot , named Rosie , was stolen last Friday in the late afternoon.
It was taken fron El Limonar , Torrevieja. The owner says that an attempt was made two weeks previously but Rosie fended off her attackers on that occasion ,as there was blood nearby.
Her cage had four padlocks on it but the thieves managed to take her.
The thieves used metal cutters , gloves and a cloth to take Rosie from her cage.
It appears that two other African parrots have been stolen in the area recently.
The Guardia Civil in Pilar de la Horada have been informed
