It is thought that a pair of breeding parrots escaped into the wild about 20 years ago and made their nest in the pine trees around Pla de Javea.

These noisy and exotic birds have been breeding ever since.

Javea town hall is now considering removing their nests, preventing their breeding and spreading to other areas.
