Masses of jellyfish have been washed up on the beach in Javea.

The numbers do not come close to those that swarmed onto the beaches in 2003.

At that time it happened at the beginning of the holiday season after torrential rainfall in April of that year.

They are usually more of a problem in August when the seas are warmer .

So far no stinging incidents have been reported.
