The road works on the Avenida Denia in Alicante is causing major traffic jams onto  the San Juan exit from the A70.

This is a project to widen Avenida Denia . Sometimes the queues of traffic completely close down the inside lanes of the A70.

It is advisable for travellers to find alternative routes .

The N332 bypass in Benidorm  was a sea of cars last week when contractors painted the road markings . There were traffic queues way back to Villajoyosa and Alfaz del Pi, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Many have questioned the timing of carrying out such a job at this busy time of the year.

Helicopters which may have helped certain road traffic situations was not deployed because it wasn’t requested , says a DGT traffic department spokesperson .
