The home owners at the urbanisation in the Altea Hills  are fighting the developer and the town hall about the building works which are taking place there at the moment .

Many town halls , such as Moraira , Calpe and Benidorm are restricting work during the summer months but it seems that Altea has done the opposite.

The noise and dust from the extra excavators and diggers has made life unbearable and all requests to the town hall have been ignored .

Many residents are feeling ill from the stress of it all ,families are moving elsewhere for large parts of each day , people are refusing to visit , others have rented apartments well away from it all .

Many of these home owners were under the impression that there were restrictions on the number of properties which were going to be built and that the natural beauty of the place would be retained . This all seems to have changed too.

The land is being destroyed and ” Lego -style ” houses being built in huge numbers .

Then when the developer is quoted in a magazine as saying that they are creating ” heaven on earth ” these people are understandably angry .

The maximum noise level permitted  is 45 decibels and 80 decibels have been recorded in some places , which is against the law and is being made by more than 13 very large excavating machines .

There is now a group of residents who are fighting this situation .
