There were medieval markets and parades and bouncy castles and enormous paellas.

All of these activities were part of Javea’s Moors and Christians fiesta . It took place last week and the town was a hive of activity .

The battle took place on Javea’s La Grava beach and was the central part of the fiesta .

A castle had been constructed on the promenade and with the sounds of musket fire and the intensity of the battles to take control of the fortress , it was all exciting stuff.
