A cyclist was run over by a car last month , near Alicante airport .
The Czechoslovakian national was knocked off his bike on the N332 in the early hours of the morning on July 29.
He was killed instantly and the driver of the vehicle which hit him did not stop to offer assistance .
Since that time police have been making enquiries about the motorist and finally detained a Rojales man this weekend.
