Fot the seventh year running Benidorm has organised its Travesia Popular L’Illa -Port swimming race .

It will take place on the last day of August and almost 300 people have registered to take part in the event .

The race begins from Benidorm island and all of the competitors will be taken to the island first of all . The race begins at 08.30 and each swimmer will wear an orange swimming hat and carry a yellow whistle as well as having a microchip that will record the time for their particular swim .

The race is expected to take about 2 hours .
