Next month the Benidorm council is going to put out the contract for cleaning the beaches , to tender .

The company that wins the contract will be announced before the end of the year .

The new contract will include a number of new stipulations one of which will be that a high proportion of the workforce will be retained by the company .

The current employers have been asked for a payrise by their employees . These workers want parity with those who clean the streets in the town .
