A number of people have fallen in the streets of Benidorm because of the state of the pavements .
The claims engendered because of this has caused the council to review its public liability policy .
In 2002 the council would cover the first 600 euros of any claim whereas in 2006 that figure had gone up to 6,000 euros .
To ensure cover , the council has to pay a premium of 60,000 euros .This year two claims came to 36,000 euros and the council paid the first 6,000 of each one .
