A British couple , who lived in Alameda , had a very serious domestic row last which ended in both parties being injured .
Neighbours were disturbed in the early hours to discover that the couple were fighting with knives .
The woman was helped by the neighbours , who called the police .
Both the woman and her partner were trated in hospital . Local people said that they were new to the area and were regarded locally as being a little ” strange “.
