The Virgen del Carmen cultural centre was the venue for unveiling the details of a project to convert Torrevieja’s Acequion beach into a pedestrian zone .The meeting was presented by the regional infrastructure director and also the mayor .
The proposal is to join up the western quay with the eastern breakwater , enclosing the beach .
There would also be a promenade linking with the Vista Alegre esplanade and the fishing harbour .
In total there would be about 5 km of promenade across the seafront .
