It is thought that Local Police in Orihuela have helped to save an endangered Loggerhead Turtle .
It was on Tuesday , on La Zenia Beach that the turtle was discovered trapped in nets and plastic bags . The police officers cut it free and said that it did have a bad cut on one of its feet as well as being very tired .
The animal was taken into care by the regional government animal protection department .
Meanwhile in Alicante an ape similar to those found in Gibraltar was discovered on the patio of a home in Carolinas Altas just outside Alicante .
SEPRONA , the environmental branch of the Guardia Civil rescued this animal after sedating it .
They were assisted by volunteers from Elche zoo and the animal was taken there for care .
