Roman Remains Off Las Rotas In Denia

While diving off the coast at Las Rotas , directly out from Restaurante Mena in Denia , the diver discovered an anchor head which is believed to be of Roman origin .

It was discovered 25 metres below the surface and was covered in algae .It is made of lead and is almost i metre in length .

The town’s archaeological museum has dated it between the 1st and 5th centuries AD.

Once the museum has cleaned the artifact then they may be able to be more accurate as there could be insignias or other work on it.This could be another important piece of Denia’s Roman history .
