As the end of the summer draws near , the tourism councillor of Denia , has released figures about occupation of the various amenities of the town during the summer .
At the end of August hotel occupancy was 79 %, campsites reached 87 % and house rentals were 75 %.
These figures are down 5 % on the same period last year , which is not regarded as significant in the present economic climate .
September figures are predicted to be 55% occupancy but this can change significantly depending on the weather .
The tourist information centres have had over 40,000 visitors with the balance being towards Spanish visitors ( 54 % ) and the rest from abroad ( 45 %).
