They are bucking the trend but the Valencian Community has shown an increase in property by 7.2 % for new builds .

Re-sales have gone down by 0.7 %in the same region . During the first four months of 2008 house prices went down by 0.2 %, despite some feelings of concern about the Spanish economy .

However from May to August they have gone up by 3.1 % , higher than in the same period in 2007 .

The overall picture in Spain is that of a general downturn which has seen record numbers of repossessions and some unemployment .
