The news that Cala del Moraig and Cala de Llebeig are to be considered for a Marina has angered the residents of Benitachell.
These beaches have green belt status and is protected under the European Union environmental directives .
The area is home to the deepest underground river in mainland Spain and Portugal and also the wonderful Els Arcs cave.
The local council has announced its unofficial approval but as yet no surveys have been done to discover the environmental impact of such a scheme .
