Les Rotes beach in Denia was the scene of much rotting sea grass and sea weed . The heavy seas were responsible for the upheaval of the vegetation .
Local residents protested to the council about the smell which made the surrounding area very unpleasant .
A mechanical digger was sent in to clear it all up and many truck loads were driven away .
A continuation of unstable weather has meant that the process may need to be continued .
