A sculptor who was born in Calpe and is now Valencia based , visited the Laude , Lady Elizabeth School last week to show and discuss his work with Year 12 Art students .
After a World trip , which lasted five years , Viktor Ferrando , became a blacksmith and taught martial arts .
His ecpertise with metal brought him his first commission from Calpe council and since then he has been exhibiting in many towns and cities . This year he has represented Spain in the Prague Trennial . His sculptures are made from recycled metals picked up in scrapyards .
He encouraged students to persue their passions and dreams and he also went through the processes that he uses to create a sculpture .
