The President of CLARO says that the flooding which is caused on the Orihuela Costa is a direct result of overbuilding , including blocking ravines and also building in ravines . Add to this an almost non-existant drainage system and you will have problems .

The rains on November 20 caused a great deal of flooding which trapped people in their homes or in their cars .

The gravel and sand being used to do work on the N332 was washed away and blocked drains , was the excuse given to the public .

One street in Orihuela Costa is constantly being flooded in heavy rain  but also with  sewage  and this was because the infra-structure was left unfinished by the builder .This is due to be rectified and an overflow channel will be built here and on other urbanisations .

Ten days ago rain water with sewage hit the beach at La Zenia and took two days to clear up .
