The town hall in San Fulgencio feels that too many of its communities within the town are scarred by anti-social behaviour and they want to do something about it ,They have developed an initiative called ” Putting our communities first :A strategy for tackling anti-social behaviour “Parks ,playgrounds,green areas and the town centre are all evidence of the trend .The councillor in charge says that everyone has to become better at cleaning up their act .This implies the individual but it also applies to businesses and other organisations who shirk their responsibilities .

So what constitutes behaviour of this type ?Litter , fly-tipping , dog fouling of pavements , graffiti all come into the equation and need to be tackled .

Education of the community has to be at the fore so that people realise just what they are doing when they tip their rubbish onto the land of some poor farmer .How would we like it if some person came and did the same on our front door> Unhappy , to put it mildly .Alongside education must go enforcement of the law .This is called ” consequences “. If you do this , then this will happen .It is the way we bring up our children when they are very little and it must be applied also to adults and teenagers too .Parents shouls be made responsible for their children misbehaving too .

San Fulgencio is seeking a ” Green Team ” to work alongside the council to tackle the problems via the Agenda 21 programme , helping to run educational programmes across the municipality .
