Lliria is the capital of Camp del Turia whch is 25 k from Valencia .It is a favorite place of many British residents and at the moment there are 750 registered on the Padron .There are many reasons for its popularity .House prices are reasonable , it is near Valencia , there are schools , good shopping and plenty of sporting facilities .It isn’t touristy either , as many of the coastal areas can be .It has a population of 22,000 , a state of the art hospital , good schools , a golf course and a natural park with a river .
Each day there is a mercado municipal which has the best of Spansh products .You will find fresh vegetables , meat and game plus produce unique to this area .Oranges of course are the mainstay of the economy .There are no “ fish and chips ” here .Yet it is also quite cosmopolitan and you will find your “indian ” and chinese restaurants plus British bars .
Culturally there is a lot going on in the town from concerts , cinema , sport , guided walks to initiate into the history of the town are all provded by the town hall .
This is a town to visit and also a town to live in and be happy in .
