A visit to Cartagena over Easter and then a short drive to La Union to the Craft Fair will enable everyone to enjoy the weekend .Cartagena was a thriving port during medieval times and is also famous for its religious festivals during Semana Santa .In La Union they have a very interesting Craft Fair and a Fossils and Mineral Fair .

Most of the land around Murcia is flat and fairly uninteresting but the area around Cartagena and La Union has more hills which provides some variation to the landscape .La Union is a mining town and it is holding its 13th Fossil and Mineral Fair in the lovely Art Deco style market hall .While you are able to marvel at the fossils and minerals inside , outside will be the Craft Fair .

There will be workshops for children and many of the stallholders will be showing everyone just how they make their products and will also take orders for them .The Fair is open for the four days over Easter and nearby there will be refreshments of every variety and taste .The Craft Fair is organised by Amata , which is an association which gives a guarantee of quality , ensuring that nothing is bought in , everything is made by the stallholders .
