The Mayor of Calpe has threatened to fine the opposition PSOE party unless they come up with the documents to back up their accusations that there have been irregularities in the costing of projects under thegovernments Plan E aid to local councils .The PSOE have said publicy that these projects have been overcosted and have been awarded unfairly .These are serious accusations and if true they need to be dealt with straight away .They also need to be backed up with the factual documents to prove the point .The mayor has asked for the proof on three different occasions and so far nothing is forthcoming .He therefore has a right to fine the opposition under Article 95 of Administrative law .

The regional government could be paying for a project in Calpe which will help safety at a black-spot on the N-332 .The Town Council has announced that they have placed plans with the regional government that envisages the building of a split level tunnel at the northern end of the town .This area has been classed as one of the worst accident areas in the  region .Plan Confianza would fund the two million euro project .
