The main access road into the town of Javea on the Costa Blanca , from Denia for the installation of new drains, has made travel into the town sheer chaos.Drivers were not sure of where to go and ended up going through the old town and getting lost .To add insult to injury the council has also started work in Duanes where roads have been dug up and in the Arenales a project to renew street lighting is being started .There are no deadlines available for any of these projects and consequently motorists are uncertain of just what they should be doing in terms of experiencing delays and detours.
The owners of Magatzem dels Anglesos warehouse in Denia want to pull the building down . This building was built in 1909 by the ManchesterWholesale Cooperative.This company had established itself in the town as early as 1896.Its main trade was in currants.Now the Superior Courtof Justice in Valencia has ruled that the building cannot be demolished .This is the largest building of its kind in Denia and now it has acquired special protection .
Paul Cunningham Nurses will benefit from the charity function in Lliber which has been organised by the Jalon and Orba Lions.The function started at 10.30 but it was incredibly difficult to access the Lavender Farm where it was being held and many people just drove on home .Parking facilities were limited and parking on the main road got you a fine from the police .Consequently those who would have paid the 2 euro entry and enjoyed the day of entertainment did not turn up .This was such a shame .It just seemed that “Parking ” had not been thought through to benefit the event.
