The Murcia regional government has announced that there will be 233 lifeguards patrolling their beaches this summer.In addition there will be 23 rescue boats,14 jet skis and 15 rescue canoes.Nine quad bikes will be patrolling the coast .
Beaches will have first aid posts and 100 posts for the lifeguards.In San Pedro del Pinatar,San Xavier,Los Alcazares,Cabo de Palos,Cartagena,Mazarron and AguilasĀ Salvamento Maritimo will have 8 rescue boats.The lifeguard and first aid stations are scheduled for Mondays to Sundays from 11am to 7pm until September 30.
In all 2.5 million euros is invested in the COPLA regional beach emergency and rescue planby the regional government,town halls,Salvamento Maritimo and Red Cross.Beaches offering a special service for the disabled have been provided with 28 beach chairs.More lifeguards,medical staff and skippers have been hired this year.The number of volunteers has been reduced.
