MABS is a cancer support group and last week it held its annual summer ball at the Salon Canor in Teulada and raised 8000 euros in the process .The event also marked 10 years since MABS was founded by president Jacqui Philips MBE and vice president Frances Sawyer.
Three hundred tickets were sold and the ticket included a mealfollowed by a tribute band ABBA Elite and DJ Darrell.The president thanked those who had sponsored the ball and these included Eurolin P Garden Company,Telitec Communications,Female Focus SL,SR Print and Signs,Moraira -Teulada Lions,Home 2 Home and Securistore.They have all provided support during the year.The president went on to say that without the money ,skills or services of these sponsors the charity could not function .
She also thanked the media ,newspapers and radio that have given much needed publicity over the last 10 years.It is this publicity which gives people who are affected by cancer the awareness of what MABS is able to do to help.Their new support centre in Sol Park ,Moraira ,is now open .
