49 year old Stephen Mallon is still in a coma in a Malaga hospital .It is still not known what actually happened on the night he fell( or was pushed) over a balcony,falling on his head and ending up in this coma.
Stories in both the Spanish and British press have widely speculative accounts of just what happened.Some say that he was called to help his teenage sons when the became involved in a brawl with Spanish youths and he accidently fell over the balcony.Others say that locals in Competa actually threw him over the balcony.
Then there are the reasons for the initial fight .Some say the British youths taunted the Spanish youths ,ending in a fight and then there is the converse and it was the Spanish who started it all because they hate the Brits.
Somewher in the middle is the truth ,but the reality is that a man is lying in hospital in a coma and he could die .Whatever happened that night ,it was wrong on both sides and you can bet your life that alcohol was involved somewhere.Alcohol can cause people to do and say things that they would not normally do.The best thing now is for everyone to tell the truth and not cover up what is a crime.
