Guadalhorce hospital has taken another step towards ever existing.The Junta de Andalucia ’s Health Department has awarded the design and construction contract.This Guadalhorce Valle hospital has had many delays but this is a really positive step forward.
Ferrovial was awarded the contract from a selection of 19 others who had put in bids for it .There was a two week consultation period and the winning company will have 34 months to complete the contract.The budget for the contract is just over 21 million euros plus an additional six million to equip the hospital.
The hospital was supposed to have been completed in 2008 and the delays have been met with a great deal of anger and protest meetings from citizens groups in Guadalhorce plus threats of law suits.Initial problems came from the choice of a site and reclassification of land .Last year the project suffered two failed tendering processes.There wereno acceptable bids tendered.
