Spain has at long last deregulated its electricity and on the Costa del Sol everyone has had Sevillana Endesa as a supplier .Now it is possible to change your supplier from July 1and if you stay with Sevillana you will pay 5% more for your electricity .The problem is that everyone seems to be in the dark about what is going on .All householders should have received a letter from their supplier informing them of the options. One householder said that in his town pamphlets were just left in the main square and unless you were around to pick one up then you would not have seen the information ,they just blew around in the wind.
Another woman has been trying to change her supplier since April and has failed to do so .In reality householders should be able to change to ” green” Iberdrola who have massive wind farms in the south .They are one of the free market companies.Sevillana Endesa in Ronda were unable to give advice on what to do .It has been ascertained that if you have 10Kw or more coming into your home then you can change to Iberdrola.
Failure to act on any of this means that you stay with your present supplier at an extra cost of 5%.This has to be madness.
