It was intended to raise the water taxes in Altea this year .However the move has been blocked and at a full council meeting it was voted against the rise even though Bloc abstained from voting. It appears that it was the Bloc vote which voted in the water supplier Tyosa-Aguas de Valencia even though it was the most expensive option .This was despite the council’s advice that Aqualia would be the most cost effective. The problem is that the company want increased tariffs and the council are saying no to them.It is the residents through their taxes who will in the end meet the shortfall.
