A huge corruption investigation is taking place in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.It involves 21 people including influential politicians and businessmen plus an architect who is related to Queen Sofia.He is the nephew by marriage to Queen Sofia and he has been found guilty of corruption .Carlos Morales is married to Princess Alexia of Greece,she is the daughter of the former King Constantine of Greece who is the brother of the Spanish Queen.
The work of Sr Morales has left him at the centre of this corruption case .It involves “backhanders ” for municipal contracts.It was opened up in court a month ago and is the latest in a series of similar cases on the Canary Islands.Sr Morales was in the witness box for over 5 hours before finally being charged with influence peddling.The Spanish Royal Family have refused to speak to the press about the case .
