When you go out for the evening in Torrevieja or anywhere else ,you do not expect to return to your home and be attacked just before you retire for the night .Ths is what happened to a Brit who lived on the Los Altos urbanisation in Torrevieja.
The couple had been out for the evening and then decided to wind down with a quiet drink on the terrace before going to bed.It was about 2.30 am and Mrs Galloway went off to bed andBob her husband finished his drink and went off to lock up.It was then that he was aware of a man trying to leave the house and escape over a wall.It is a natural reaction to chase someone who has invaded your privacy and so Bob chased this man ,caught up with him ,took a piece of his shirt and pulled him down .A fight ensued and suddenly two other men appeared over the wall and set two giving Bob a real going over.In the process they broke his ankle in three places.He also received other injuries from falling onto cacti.
The men got away but the police have taken the piece of shirt and a hat which was left behind.It is possible the men were Moroccan in origin.All of that sounds really bad but there has been some good to come out of it and that has been the help of friends and neighbours ,of all nationalities ,particularly Spanish neighbours who have helped with language issues .
