The police in Malaga Province are voicing concerns over the increase in violence that they are experiencing across the province.They have been used to breaking up fights ,especially between those who have been drinking but those usually ended with a few fist fights and it was all over.Now the violence is more gratuitous and it goes on until someone is seriously hurt or even killed.
They have cited two recent cases ,one in Competa, where a British man was killed by a group os Spaniards in a brawl where the Brit was attempting to protect his sons.At Alhaurin de la torre fair nine were injured ,once again afgter a fight that ent too far.
It seems that young people today choose to take knives with them when they go out on the pretext of protecting themselves.Too often they are being used.Police feel that there are a few reasons for this violence increase and they relate to alcohol and drugs.The other is a lack of parental control and a taking over of control in the home by the youngsters.They have no respect for their parents and they have no respect for society.They do as they please in their homes and feel that they can do exactly the same on the streets.
Very often the fights begin over trivial matters and then escalate into something serious .These are indicators of individuals not being able to rationalise and make proper decisions.Both of which come after the intake of alcohol and drugs.
