Miguel Angel Moratinos is the Spanish foreign Minister and he is concerned that journalists from Spain have not been permitted to renew their visas in Iran.This means that they are not allowed to report on what is going on inside the country after the recent elections and the resulting unrest and public demonstrations.

A diplomatic source has revealed that the Minister has requested that the Iranian government ” reconsiders this decision”and to permit the Spanish journalists to continue their work.It is not only Spain of course ,the international media has been banned from reporting the street demonstrations being staged by the supporters of Mousavi.They are requesting that the elections be re-run as they feel that the results were rigged by the opposition .

The Iranian authorities have suggested that certain foreign journalists have been the mouthpiece of the rioters .They have also instructed the Revolutionary Guards to delete materials written on line.Moratinos has also ,at the same meeting ,condemned the violence against peaceful demonstrators ,which is thought to have left 8 people dead.

The Iranian Ambassador in Spain has promised tht he will do everything that he is able to convey the message to the Iranian government.
