In the last four years in Spain there have been 13,000 same sex marriages and the Valencia Region comes in fourth after Cataluna, Madrid and Andalucia as the highest in the country.In the Valencia region 1,673 marriages have taken place after the law was changed four years ago.In Cataluna there have been 3,275 ,Madrid2629 and in Andalucia 1,912.
Of the 13,000 total ,one in ten have ended in divorce or separation.This compares with 96,500 heterosexual couples splitting up in one year alone.In reality 357 relationships break up every day.
The vast majority of same sex weddings take place in the cities ,reports the Ministry of Justice.They involve people of all religious and political persuasions.Only a third of them involve marriages between two women.
