The Mayor of Marbella has just launched the Plan for Town and Beach safety.He assured the people of this Costa del Sol town that although the summer months would be quite intense the council was well prepared.
There are underground roadworks going on in San Pedro and of course there are the preparations for the Davis Cup tennis tournament .The Policia Local has been increased by 20%.They are going to step up their patrols in places such as the Paseo Maritimo ,Puerto Banus and the main shopping areas.Volunteers from the Civil Protection groups will be patrolling the beach areas .
Recycling of used plastic containers in Marbella has increased by 43% according to Antonio Sanchez of the Mancommunidad environment department when he announced the figures for this year. The department has organised a number of different activities for the summer to try and educate young people about the importance of recycling.He reiterated that to recycle takes very little time but the use to the environment is enormous.
