The animals at Terra Natura in Benidorm need to be kept cool in these temperatures .The staff at the theme park are making giant ice -creams for the animals evry day .The one that they are making for the elephants is made of melons,apples and carrots and weighs in at 70 tonnes.
Once made up it is chilled and fed to the elephants in an effort to keep them cool.Terra Natura has the largest herd of Asian elephants in captivity and they truly enjoy playing with the ice cream with their trunks being dunked into the mixtureand then into the water.One of the most popular elephants is Petita who was originally rejected by her fellow elephants for being the runt of the herd at only 2,900 kilos .However Pepita now has acquired herself a boyfriend and also 475 Facebook friends to boot.
