Last week National police in Malaga and Marbella were celebrating the day of their patron and they took the opportunity to announce the fact that the efficiency of the National Police had gone up and that the crime rates had come dowm.
Police efficiency had gone up from 32% to 38% and arrests had increased this year from 4,736 to 5,623.The general crime rate in the Province of Malaga had fallen for the second year running.The number of cases that had been solved had also improved.The Government representitive also extolled the improvement in Marbella which had fallen by more than the Provincial average,by around 11% so far this year.The fall in the city of Malaga was about the same as last year,5.5%.
During the week of celebrations a number of officers received medals for merit in the line of their duty.They also remembered those who had lost their lives in the course of duty.
