The anti-tobacco group Action on Smoking on Health gave the biggest indication a few days ago that they believed that electronic cigarettes were a logical alternative to smoking tobacco cigarettes. In their report, ( see http://www.ash.org.uk/files/documents/ASH_715.pdf ) the organisation admits that whilst quitting smoking would be better, the technology of electronic cigarettes provides a better alternative for smokers than continuing to smoke tobacco.
They do point out that many brands of electronic cigarettes found on the market do pose risks in terms of the nicotine refills that are manufactured in China without regulation of any kind and with no verification of the refill contents.
The news comes close on the back of the launch of a range of electric cigarette products into the UK from Inlife LLC, a Californian based company whose e-cigarettes refills use synthetic nicotine, not tobacco extracted as most are, and are produced and independently verified using only pharmeceutical grade material in a laboratory registered by the US FDA, (Food & drug Administration).
