Benissa and Teulada Rotary Club in conjunction with Caritas have organised with Mas y Mas to provide staple foods for struggling Costa Blanca families.Mas y Mas stores in Benissa,Teulada ,Moraira ,Jalon and Benitaxell are working with them .
After learning that so many local families were barely able to provide the basics for their children,because of the economic crisis and because of losing jobs ,they decided to work alongside Caritas in helping out.The number of people continuing to suffer is increasing.They say that those affected can be in any ange range or other social category,they are just struggling.
The basic scheme is for shoppers to buy some extra staple foods and place them in a special basket in these shops.They want such things as rice,pasta,tinned goods and the like.Caritas and Rose Cam have agreed to double whatever is left in the trolleys.It appears that in Teulada alone there are 200 people who are relying on Caritas because of their financial situations.Mas y Mas has already donated six trolley full loads of food for the scheme.
