There is a fire raging within the Spanish political party ,the PP or Partido Popular.The fire is raging mainly in the Valencia region and Alicante Province.The Valencia president Francisco Camps and the Provincial president Jose Ripoll have been at loggerheads for some while.
The party leader Mariano Rajoy has been attempting to pour oil on troubled waters by showing solidarity with sr camps over his alleged involvement in operation Gurtel.Sr Ripoll on the other hand is showing doubt over the integrity of Sr Camps,which has fired the flames again.
One PP member has stood down over the alleged corruption scandal,Ricardo Costa .Some are saying that if he had to go then so should others .Some say that the Rajoy statement has just widened the gap between Madrid and Valencia.It appears that Sr Camps has had a long relationship with Alvaro Perez of Orange Market,the company at the centre of the alleged corruption.
Those who are supporting Sr Camps say that the allegations about him receiving suits have been filed by the court but there is no further evidence to link him to the scandal.Opposition parties are focusing on the fact that Sr Camps had said that he had bought the suits which he had ,this was shown to be untrue.So the saga continues and it is hoped that the whole truth will emerge eventually.
