The town of San Juan near Alicante is to have its sporting complex upgraded.The work will begin in November.The Provincial government in Alicante has agreed to help finance the project.

The Mayor met with the head of the provincial sport department and it was decided to award the contract for the project to Aligest SL.The Provincial government will give 360,000 euros to the project.This will go towards building a football pitch with an all weather surface.886,000 euros will be spent on a total overhaul of the athletics track,the stadium as well as the areas surrounding them.

Since the last local election the council has been carrying out a whole series of improvements which have included the building of two padel courts,the renewing of the tennis courts and the building of a new cafeteria.The Mayor has stressed the importance of good sporting facilities in any town.
